Missouri Public Library Directors (MPLD) summer meeting, Union, MO, June 5-6, attended by Nancy Howland. Discussed wireless networking, property reassessment and taxes, news from State Library, MPLD, and MOREnet, and more.

ALA Washington Office: Persistence Pays! Ideas for Connecting with Lawmakers at Home web conference, Thursday, June 12, 3-4 pm, attended by Nancy Howland

Library Skills Summer Institute, sponsored by Missouri State Library, August, in Columbia.  Kathy Schlimpert (Altenburg) attended the Reference Services session; Ginny Robert (Oran) and Glenda Kenkel (Scott City) attended the Senior Services classes; and Zedith Johnson (Jackson) attended the Basic Library Skills class.

A MOREnet staff training was held at Jackson for all the staff.  Everyone attended.

Denise explained all the online databases: EbscoHost, NewsBank, Gale Discovery, and Learn-a-Test, we receive through our membership in MOREnet, and how to use them. 

Short Term Grant Management online session, Sept. 9.  Attended by Nancy Howland.

MLA Annual Conference—Oct. 1-3, St. Louis, sponsored by the Missouri Library Association.  Attended by: Ginny Robert and Lynn Farrow (who did one of the presentations), Roberta Brown, Eileen Fronabarger, and Mary Kay Sauer.
