Public Relations 2009:

  • Heartland News on the Road is an exclusive on-air campaign developed by KFVS Channel 12.  They highlighted Jackson through a week-long (August 21-27) advertising and promotional campaign, culminating with an entire newscast live from Jackson starting at 5:00 PM on Aug. 27.  Riverside Library was featured in ten 10-second ads on KFVS and WQWQ-CW during the week plus a tile ad on the Jackson page of www.KFVS12.com.

  • We are now posting Riverside events on SEMOevents.com free of charge.
  •  

  • Scott County Branch Managers and members of the Historical Society are now taking turns changing the glass display case at the Benton courthouse.  The Branch Manager will alternate every month for one year.
  •

    ·        Library’s monthly newsletter produced in-house is CURRENTS.

    ·        Riverside’s traditional magnetic calendars were again distributed to our patrons.

     

    ·        Children's Librarian, Lynn Farrow, sat on the YELL Foundation Board which works closely with the area School Librarians Association. The group sponsored author visits to area schools and libraries in the fall.

     

  • Scott County Health unit used the Benton Branch meeting room as an outreach center.
  •  

  • Oran Branch Manger, Ginny Robert, continued a series of coffee chats on the local AM radio station with host Faune Riggen.
  •  

  • Scott City continues to provide space for local collections in their glass display case.  Collections are changed several times a year.
  •  

  • RRL Christmas displays in Jackson City Park and Altenburg City Park in December.
