Outreach

 

  • Children’s Librarian, Lynn Farrow, visited area schools to publicize the Summer Reading Club and/or to present book programs.  She also visited area preschools and daycares throughout the year to present storytime programs for children.

  • Rotating deposit collections at Burfordville and Daisy Post Offices.

     

  • RRL Board Members delivered boxes of weeded large print books to nursing homes and senior centers in all three counties throughout the year.

     

  • Weeded and donated books were delivered to area daycares, city of Morley,

     

  • Perryville Branch Manager, Julie Sauer, was invited to visit with the parents of the Adventure Club whose children come to the library each Friday after school. The many services our library has to offer was discussed.

     

  • Altenburg Branch Manager, Kathy Schlimpert, was asked to be a surprise reader for the kindergarten class at the public school.  She went as "Crazy Clementine" with her crazy hats.
     

  • Scott City Branch Manager, Glenda Kenkel, and Children’s Librarian, Lynn Farrow, visited St. Augustine School in Kelso to talk about the summer reading program. Also handed out flyers to older students informing them about the progress on the Teen Space.

     

  • In October, the Scott County Health clinic gave over 200 flu shots at the Benton library.
