Other Events:

 

  • Riverside renewed the reciprocal agreement with Sikeston Public Library at $15,000 per year.

  • Riverside’s operating account was transferred from Regions Bank to an interest-bearing account at Montgomery Bank.

  • AARP volunteers offered free tax help to the public at Central and Benton libraries during February through April 2007.

  • Author visit by Bryan Bush in June at Scott City, Perryville, and Jackson branches.

  • Altenburg Branch Manager, Kathy Schlimpert, did several very popular paper-cutting workshops at her library and at Central. 

  • Oran Library was made available to summer school students while the school’s library was being remodeled. 

  • Library Director, Nancy Howland, served on the Missouri Library Association’s 2007 Ronald G. Bohley Scholarship Selection Committee.  The scholarship is sponsored by the Professionalism, Education, Employment, and Recruitment Special Interest Group (PEER SIG) and is awarded annually to an individual enrolled in or recently accepted into an ALA-accredited program in pursuit of a Master's degree in Library/Information Science.

  • Author visit by Rick Riordan in September at Jackson.

  • Christmas Party for Board members, staff, and their guests in December in Cape Girardeau.  County Commissioners were also invited to attend.
