Grants Received

         

  • Teen Spaces Grant, $44,100. 
  • Awarded January 2007 to Central, Altenburg, Scott City, Benton, and Oran.   Federal LSTA funds administered through the Missouri State Library.  Teen Advisory Boards were formed at each of the five libraries.  The teens assisted in the selection and installation of equipment, furniture, posters, CD's, movies, games, and programs.  Several exciting teen-centered programs were conducted at each branch.  The Oran teens created their own short film.  Each “Teen Center” continues to provide young people ages 12-18 a place to call their own.  

     

  • Technology Ladder Grant, $10,044.
  • Awarded to Riverside (all branches) to purchase and install computers 14 replacement computer workstations throughout the library system to enhance network performance, and 1 new additional computer workstation at the Main Library to improve accessibility for handicapped patrons. Federal LSTA grant provided through the Missouri State Library.

     

  • Wal-Mart Grant, $1,000.
  • Lynn Farrow, Children’s Librarian, applied for and received a $1,000 grant from Wal-Mart to use for children’s materials.
