Friends of the Library 2009:

Each Friends group raises funds for the library branch that it represents.

 

·        Friends of Riverside Regional Library @ Oran was formed in October 2005. 
Activities in
2009 included a Book Sale in May, a Mother's Day prize drawing; designed, printed and sold calendars with photos of local landmarks as a fund-raiser; purchased a Wii video game setup; paid for several magazine subscriptions; and hosted a book sale in

 

·        Friends of Riverside Regional Library @ Jackson was formed in March 2006.

Activities during 2009 included the purchase of an upholstered loveseat, two armchairs, upholstered bench, and a large wall clock for the reading area.  They  helped with the Grand Opening in the summer, hosted a Staff Appreciation Luncheon, helped with moving shelving and furniture from the Cape Public Library to Riverside at Jackson, and held a Book Sale in October.

         

                     

·        Friends of Riverside Regional Library @ Perryville was formed in 2006.

Activities during 2009 included a book sale in March and April, paying hotel expenses for the Traces Museum speaker on April 15, purchasing a book for the library from Traces, purchasing glass cases for the library’s bird display, a book sale during the Hwy 61 Labor Day sale, a booth at the weekend Craft Fair in November, selling canvas book bags, and administering an ongoing book sale on Amazon.com.

·        Friends of Riverside Regional Library @ Benton was formed in March 2008.

Activities during 2009 included selling chances for two Christmas baskets.  Winners were Cindy Tew and Carolyn Pendergrass.  They purchased new mini blinds for the new building.

·        Friends of Riverside Regional Library @ Scott City was formed in Arpil 2008.

Activities during 2009 included a spring book sale in April, a Mother’s Day drawing, a Fall book sale in September, the purchase of a new chair for the adult reading area, a book sale and white elephant sale in December, the sale of book bags, and the purchase of countertop display racks for paperback picture books.
