Riverside Regional Library

Sample of Gifts & Donations:

  • TG Missouri donated $3,000 to the Perryville Branch.

  • Many thoughtful patrons donated funds to purchase books in memory or in honor of their friends and loved ones.  Our sincerest appreciation to these lovely people.

  • Patrons have contributed to the library’s funds by being faithful customers of our on-going book sales at Central, Perryville, Benton, and Scott City libraries.

  • Area businesses, organizations, and individuals donated cash, prizes or time to our Summer Reading Club. Examples are The Ice Cream Corner and Cape Wal-Mart for Scott City; Burger King, Texas Road House, American Ice Cream, Wehrenberg Theatre, McDonalds, Domino’s Pizza, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Montgomery Bank, Arby’s, and more for Jackson and/or all branches.

  • A patron of the Oran Branch has donated plants and landscaping there for several years, making the yard beautiful.

  • The Friends of the Library groups at Perryville, Jackson, and Oran donated so much—time, money, programs--to these libraries! (Please see the Friends section later in this report).

  • Several loyal patrons donate magazine subscriptions every year.

  • The Noon Optimist Club of Jackson donated $200 to purchase Kid Kits—a new project for Riverside

  • The Friends of the Library @ Jackson received a $500 donation from the Evening Optimist Club of Jackson which was then submitted to the library to purchase additional Kid Kits.

  • Genesis Trucking took a lot of the old book sale books to donate to a charity they support—an Indian reservation in another state.

  • The Lions Club of Altenburg donated $200 to the Altenburg Branch to purchase books and DVDs.

  • A  generous Scott City patron, Jim Pinkston, donated $100 for the library to purchase a two-volume set of Scott County Cemetery Records, plus books on CD.

  • Please note:  This is just a sampling of the types of donations Riverside receives each year.  We are grateful to all our many generous patrons who donate money, books, magazines, newspapers, audios, videos, and their time to our libraries.
