The Writers Group meets the Second
Monday of the month, 5:00 - 6:45 p.m. at Riverside Regional
Library in Jackson.
This group is an adults (18+) only group.
This group is for anyone interested in writing. Members do
not need to have a completed manuscript. We do writing
exercises geared to help develop characters, voice and plots.
The focus is to learn how to stimulate ideas and follow through
to completion.
This group will focus on sharing information about current
seminars, conferences and any online program designed to help
the writer succeed in being published.
This group participates in "read-arounds." Read-arounds
offer writers the opportunity to read part of their manuscript
or query letter and get critiques from fellow writers. The
discussions are honest but not mean-spirited.
Any new library material about writing will be available for
preview and checkout.
The Writing Group offers social interaction ad support
from other writers.
