 2020-09 HomeSchool Hub

 

Homeschool Hub Session - September 16 at 2 pm

These virtual 30 to 45 minute sessions are for ages 5 to 14. Presented via Zoom, this program will focus on a specific theme with discussion, library fun, videos, and a craft tutorial. The craft tutorial will be added to the Library's YouTube channel for those that may have missed the session. Hub kits including how to log into session will be available starting September 5 at the Altenburg branch.

 

Virtual Adult Craft DIY Tutorial - September 17 at 10:30 am

Join Mrs. Sandy and learn how to make a Paint Stick Scarecrow home decoration during this craft tutorial. Materials sheet and some supplies will be available at all Riverside Regional Library branches. Recipe packets will be available before the program. The first five people at each branch to pick up a packet will receive a special incentive gift.

Join Mrs. A to make a cool apple craft - but watch out for the worm! Craft kits will be available for pickup starting September 19 at the Altenburg branch.

 

 

 

Friends of the Library -- Altenburg 

In 2018, the Friends accomplished several of our goals:
Sponsored the Membership Kick-off in April with book signing by Ann Hazelwood.
Donated $250.00 to help sponsor a speaker for the Summer Reading Program.
Raised $200.00 during 1st Annual Book Sale.
Participated in the East Perry Fair Parade and handed out pencils.
Assisted with the Library's Christmas program and purchased refreshments.

In 2019, the Friends of the Library at Altenburg:
Held a book sale in April at the Flea Market at the Altenburg Fairgrounds. The proceeds purchased Juvenile non-fiction books.
Held a Raffle with proceeds purchasing adult fiction audio books.
Participated in the East Perry Fair Parade and handed out "Readers are Leaders" wristbands.
Will help with the Library's Christmas program on December 21, 2109.

In 2020, the Friends of the Library at Altenburg:

Held their Spring Fling Fundraising Dinner on March 14. Proceeds from the event purchased Juvenile Non-Fiction books.

 

The Friends will hold their next meeting via Zoom on September 29, 2020 at 6:30 pm.


The Friends of Library @ Altenburg is a fund-raising group that helps raise money to purchase new books and equipment, present special library programs, and more. There are many opportunities to serve…helping with the book sales or the membership drive. Dream up new ways to raise funds, special projects, and much more. Benefits of membership can include members-only previews of book sales or discount and discounted tickets for events.
